ELEM to invest EUR 20 million in environment protection

Macedonian Power Plants (ELEM) will allocate EUR 20 million for environmental projects, according to the company’s annual investment program.

Funds are projected, among other things, for overhaul of the filters and lowering of dust emissions in mining-energy combine (REK) Bitola.

“We believe this amount will contribute to the improvement of air pollution in Bitola and its surrounding,” said Government Spokesman Mile Bosnjakovski at Wednesday’s press briefing.

The Government discussed ELEM’s annual investment programme at yesterday’s regular session.
