Alain Le Roy on an official visit to Macedonia on Thursday

Alain Le Roy, Ambassador of France, a friend of Macedonia and a European Union Special Representative for Macedonia in 2001 and 2002 will be visiting the country from 22 to 22 September.

As part of his secret mission, he helped the country re-establish interethnic trust and restore its reputation in Europe. Le Roy was also Secretary General of the United Nations in charge of peacekeeping operations, as well as the Secretary General of the European Foreign Service for the period from January 2015 to August 2016.

His agenda includes a series of meetings with political representatives of the majority and the opposition, and the Ambassador will have the opportunity to talk in Skopje and Tetovo about the country’s prospects in a successful referendum, which is a condition for Macedonia to make a decisive step in its European way.
