Special Prosecutor’s Office cases are collecting dust, while fraud suspects are giving legal advice how to handle the investigation into SPO bonuses, prosecutor Fatime Fetai said Wednesday ahead of a hearing in the ‘Monster’ case.

“The aim of the takeover was to prevent delay in the investigations, and instead cases are now collecting dust while fraud suspects give legal advice how to handle the investigation into SPO bonuses. We’re reduced to storing open cases, although charges are ready to be filed,” Fetai said in answer to a reporter’s question.

She added that she is referring to SPO case suspect MP Antonijo Miloshovski, who according to Fetai is “giving legal advice that SPO bonuses should be treated as embezzlement and abuse of position of power, when he would have been the one preparing for a trial if we were allowed to resume investigations.”

Prosecutor Fetai added that special prosecutors had salaries only EUR 300 higher than those of prosecutors and similar to those of special prosecutors in the region.
