Anagnostopoulou: The two borders crossings with North Macedonia are bridges of friendship and cooperation

The two borders crossings with North Macedonia are the new bridges of friendship and cooperation in the Balkans, built with solid materials and a plan for growth, prosperity, solidarity and peace in our neighborhood, said Greek Alternate Foreign Affairs Minister Sia Anagnostopoulou.

According to Anagnostopoulou, the overwhelming approval of the local population of the Greek province Macedonia after the laws had been passed is a clear indication the time has come to see the benefits of the Prespa Agreement in action.

The Lemos-Markova Noga crossing will finally meet a demand issued 50 years ago. “Now, it’ll become a reality thanks to the Prespa Agreement,” Anagnostopoulou told ANA-MPA news agency. She said the opening of two border crossings would contribute to better ties in tourism, agriculture and culture.

The Parliament in Athens adopted the draft-laws last week of the opening of new border crossings near Markova Noga and Maiden between North Macedonia and Greece.
