“Non-Oui” of Lidija Dimkovska to run for Balkanika award

Novel “Non-Oui” by Lidija Dimkovska will be Macedonia’s representative running for regional literary award “Balkanika 2016”, the national jury has decided.

“‘Non-Oui’ is a novel-metaphor of life and death, merging the fictional and the factual, history and present, individual and collective destinies, big and small narratives, home and abroad, white-black perception of reality and human existence in general”, says the jury.

Dimkovska’s novel was selected from a pool of 14 applicants.

The “Balkanika” award, established in 1996, includes publishing houses from seven Balkan states (Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and Romania), whereas the jury is comprised of a renowned literary critic from each country
