Name dispute among topics on meeting between Tsipras and Kammenos

Name issue was one of the topics discussed at the meeting between Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his coalition partner Panos Kammenos held Tuesday in Prime Minister’s palace in Athens.

Kammenos after the meeting told that the position of Independent Greeks (ANEL) opposing the use of term Macedonia is unchanged adding that the ball is now in the Macedonian court.

“The position of the Independent Greeks is known in regard to Skopje issue of non-use of the term Macedonia in any settlement. Moreover, talks on the Skopje issue at this moment are in the hands of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in terms of constitutional changes. Constitutional changes are an absolute precondition,” Kammenos said after the meeting with Tsipras.

Kammenos denied speculations of leaving the government saying that cooperation with Tspiras will continue until the end, with full respect for the red lines and different political positions which we clearly and honestly set from the start as condition for our cooperation,” MIA correspondent reports from Athens.
