Mitchell in Pristina: I’m not here for a new plan on Kosovo


Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Wess Mitchell has met today with the president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci.Mitchell said that he was happy to visit Kosovo. The US official also mentioned the 10th anniversary of the independence of Kosovo, adding that the country has done lots of progress.

Mitchell said that Kosovo needs to be engaged in the dialogue with Serbia and must provide a solution to the issue of the agreement concerning border demarcation with Montenegro.

Answering journalists’ questions as to whether he has brought a new plan for Belgrade and Pristina, he said that he has brought no such plan.

“Yes, I have read about these speculations that have been made, but I have only come here to encourage dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade”, Mitchell said.
