FM Dacic: Pristina would accept Kosovo partition if not for mentors

Serbia’s Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic has said that Pristina would accept a proposal for Kosovo’s partition if there were no mentors in the talks.

“If we talked openly, without any mentors, over Kosovo’s partition, Pristina would accept that proposal, taking into consideration its interests,” FM Dacic told daily Blic.

He says that big powers consider there would be displacement of population in case of partition, but fail to consider the ethnic situation on the ground, which already complies with the partition proposal.

According to Dacic, the proposal of Kosovo’s partition is not on the table because the west believes the issue was closed once they recognized Kosovo’s independence back in 2008.
