First plenary session of the European Parliament starts with a scandal (VIDEO)

MEPs from Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party have started their terms in the European Parliament by turning their backs on the EU’s national anthem during the legislature’s opening ceremony. The Brexit MEPs carried out the protest as Ode to Joy played this morning to open the new parliamentary session.

But they were not the only British delegation to pull this kind of a stunt. The newly enlarged Liberal Democrat contingent from the UK turned up to the first session of the parliament wearing identical yellow “Bollocks to Brexit” t-shirts.
Speaking outside the parliament, Nigel Farage issued a warning to Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt about Brexit.
