Macedonian public enterprise to invest €271 million in reconstruction and rehabilitation of state roads

Investments estimated at MKD 16,7 billion (EUR 271,6 million) are envisaged in the 2018 annual program for construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation and maintenance of state roads of the Public State Roads Enterprise, adopted by the government at yesterday’s session.

“The government will continue to make intensive efforts to construct and overhaul road infrastructure in a bid to stimulate economic growth and development of the country,” the Ministry of Transport and Communications said Tuesday in a statement.

The program, it added, encompasses construction and reparation of roads with funds of the state roads enterprise, including resumption of ongoing projects for the construction of the Kicevo-Ohrid highway and the highway linking Miladinovci-Stip with finances provided by Exim Bank as well as projects on roads with loans from the World Banka and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
