Come back, Gruevski, your people are in power
Slobodanka Jovanovska
The politician with several party jerseys, Lazar Elenovski, became a special envoy for NATO in Brussels. Except that it is not clear at all why we actually need this position, in addition to a national NATO coordinator with a greater reputation than his, it is almost unbelievable to have a profile of this type of DUI “sell” to SDSM as someone who can play any role about our integration into the Alliance. . Like no one else, Lazo Elenovski is a very well-known figure for us journalists in Macedonia, especially after he zealously deleted us from the list of collaborators when he changed sides with the change of power. Except for selling his political ideology for functions and therefore went from one party to another party, for the past two years he has been trying to give up his own country, and the government has clumsily helped him. It is a public secret that Elenovski went to Brussels at a price to stay with relatives in order to become an ambassador, ie. to move out of Macedonia, as it is a public secret that after completing his term, he tries to not return to the country in the past year and a half, at all costs, ie. to find a better homeland. Now, the government has not only provided him with a salary and a status of the citizens’ hard-earned money, but also helped him to never return.
Although real patriotism is not at a price in Macedonia, this kind of missed personnel investment in someone who does not deserve, has not been seen for this government, which culminated in this plan. The main question that everyone asks is based on which moral, political, ethical principles Elenovski deserved this function paid in several thousand euros, and even more so as to complete the work of Macedonia, when he was not able to find a job in Brussels in such a long period of time? In what is the Government turning into – an institution for employing incompetent, non-principled, unstable, and, as proved several times, corrupted – and is it aware of what kind of message it sends to citizens and to all those who believed that a time of change in Macedonia was coming? To whom and for what should a politician serve, paid by a citizen who is willing to turn back to anyone, just to satisfy their basic personal interest? With the right, the public through the social media called for work to be found for the others who served the authoritarian regime of Nikola Gruevski, and as decisions are made it may be better and cheaper to return Gruevski himself, because the chances of positive changes are equal at the moment. Simply put, what is the difference between the current and the previous government, if the staff that has served in the past ten years now, comes to power again.
In this context, the question that should be given to our prime minister until he has accepted another such scandalous solution, not only in terms of staff, is – can he ever say “No” at all? If Elenovski is an idea and an ultimatum of DUI, it is also a question of his ability as a politician to avoid it, even though the coalition partnership was shaking? Thus, it only extends the DUI’s space to demolish the government from within, both morally and politically and in terms of credibility towards the citizens and its policy to metastasize in the SDSM’s echelons of power. With Lazar Elenovski as a special MP, DUI only continues with the policy of low blows towards SDSM, or because it is too profitable and seated in power without the possibility of a corrective and with that sense of responsibility, or because do not mean anything to the survival of this formation and integration into NATO, although Ali Ahmeti never stops talking about it. If Elenovski should be the political extension of DUI in the alliance in order to put the country’s European integration under its influence, then they could at least find a real representative, and not someone who gets a term because his wife is employed in Brussels!
DUI should pay such personnel from its own party treasury, because with this move it gave a mortal blow to the SDSM’s commitment to the Colorful revolution, turning it into a colorful lie. With three NATO officials, two of which in the former regime who mocked with the alliance, the public rightly asks – who and what should NATO’s representatives there believe? This is neither partisation, nor improvisation, but abuse of the state in the interests of a political convertible, a general disappointment for all who believe that honor, ability, professionalism and moral integrity will finally begin to play a role here as well. Moreover, Elenovski is one of those on the list of many zealous helpers of the previous regime and traitors of their own principles. In the end, the question remains as to whether the Minister of Defense Radmila Sekerinska will work with the man who took her to court, after turning his back to the party, unless the admission to NATO is just a big manipulation that is only convenient to those who want to settle in a more normal country than ours.
