Zaev: We moved mountains with the final agreement

What a lovely, magnificent and historic day, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev congratulated and addressed the public before signing the Macedonia-Greece name agreement with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

He quoted the famous Greek philosopher Aristotle, saying courage is the greatest virtue and for hope is the greatest dream.

– My feeling today is that by signing the final agreement and resolving the name dispute, we really moved mountains. Today we put an end to the perennial differences that have built a wall between the neighbors. The issue was open for three decades. We headed for a dignified and acceptable solution. We have resolved the dispute for three decades. It is important for me that these three decades have taught us that big visions can be fulfilled only through action, through a brave initiative. We learned that we should learn from history, not repeat it – said Zaev.

The Macedonian delegation attending the ceremony includes Deputy PM and Defense Minister Radmila Sekerinska, Deputy Premier for European affairs Bujar Osmani, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov and Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski.
