Zaev on the detained MoI senior official: No room for tolerance of any illegal actions

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev published his opinion on the detention of an employee of the Ministry of Interior on his Facebook page:

“I do not know all the details about the case with the suspected employee of the Cabinet of the Minister of Interior, but I encourage the institutions to conduct a thorough and professional investigation and make fact-based decisions. There is no room for tolerance of any illegal actions. Institutions must be fully committed to the service of citizens and in the function of the rule of law,” the prime minister wrote on his Facebook page.
In the meantime, there is still no complete information on the case from the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

Some of the media unofficially reported that D.S. was arrested for bribery, and that he claimed for the position of director in the SIA Skopje. He is a longtime member of the Ministry of the Interior, who since the entry of Spasovski in the ministerial cabinet in the technical government has been appointed as an adviser. He was also in the MOI’s commission for supervision of private security agencies.
D.S. on the order of the Public Prosecutor’s Office was detained yesterday in the police station Kisela Voda, on suspicion committed a criminal offense under Article 353 of the Criminal Code “abuse of official position and authority”.
