Zaev: Issue on law on use of languages to be closed this week

PM Zoran Zaev expects the issue on law on use of languages to be closed this week. The debate on this issue has been kept open for the past nine months, and should be closed as soon as possible, said Zaev today at the joint press conference in the government with Denis Zvizdic, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Everyone said what they had to say, there was enough time for dialogue. The law should finally be adopted in accordance with the Constitution and laws. This will close the last legalistic issue of the Ohrid Framework Agreement. We should leave it to be realized, and to be implemented in order to see that it is not something that is painful, difficult or tragic, but something that will make it easier to understand each other,” stated Zaev.

In regard to the statement of VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski that his party will support SDSM reform plans, if the law on languages is withdrawn from the parliamentary procedure, Zaev said that it was a ‘copy/paste’ statement of the former party leader Nikola Gruevski.
