YouTube video shown in ‘Bribe’ case against PM Zaev

Short video recording that was posted on YouTube in connection with the ‘Bribe’ case in which Prime Minister Zoran Zaev is charged, has been shown Wednesday in the courtroom of Skopje-based Criminal Court in the presence of the public.

Judge Darko Todorovski pointed out that the length of the video is 3 minutes and 35 seconds. PM Zoran Zaev, lawyers Vane Andreev and Filip Medarski as well as public prosecutor Valentina Bislimovska were present in the courtroom.

By showing the video recording the evidence procedure has been completed. The next hearing is scheduled for May 15 when closing arguments will be presented.

The full video recording was shown at the previous court hearings without the presence of the public.

Prosecutors charge Zaev with demanding a bribe of more than €160,000 from a local businessman Ivan Nikolov Sacavaliev in 2013 to allow the privatization of land in the southeastern town of Strumica.
