Who is reconciling with whom

The voluntary ideas for civil reconciliation that are becoming louder, to which the newly elected head of the state Stevo Pendarovski “stuck” on their first day in office, are dangerous trial balloons that can destroy the historical peace-time revolution for European, democratic, social, cultural and economic transformation. Putting an olive branch in its working agenda is actually a thistle set up by the herbarium of the previous tenant of the presidential residence. As if we did not have a civil war fifty or a hundred years ago, so today we have to advocate reconciliation. Who with whom and for would they reconcile – are essential questions to which the “Christian” post-regime politicians have no answer.

The biggest and only division that suffocates and poisons North Macedonia is mainly among political leaders, their propaganda and media to reconcile criminal associations with their victims. They demand freedom without a court ruling, with a political decision. They demand the deletion of the misdeeds that they have been doing smoothly фор over a decade, as if they had never happened. They seek to be declared innocent and unjustly exiled, demanding power to keep their stolen wealth as if they were legally acquired, demanding their victims to be convicted of the same thing for which they should be convicted, demanding that victims be declared crooks and tyrants, taking them and their followers for naive fools. Unfortunately, it is rightfully done, because only the naive in politics can believe in reconciliation by changing the roles between the criminals and the victims. In North Macedonia, the latest reform of the rule of law is when wolves are disguised in sheep’s skin.

Whether the political creators of this vague idea of civil reconciliation, beyond which something much larger is going on, think that it is necessary because of ideological differences. Surely NOT. They are common, even more intense in the most developed parliamentary democracies. Does reconciliation relate to interethnic and inter-religious relations? NO, with all the problems that exist between ethnic communities, North Macedonia is on the verge of creating a multicultural and multiethnic society throughout the region, and beyond. Inter-religious conflicts have almost never happened. Does reconciliation relate to citizens because of the major social differences? No, our fooled and robbed citizens are like peaceful, it is a pleasant and painful sight to watch their obedience before injustice when thousands of people live in poverty and misery as opposed to the fabulous wealth of several percent who have come to terms with the transitional authorities and live a wealthy life as medieval feudal lords. Nobody asks them how they got their properties, their estate, and sometimes the social and state giants, as well. So then, if there was no civil war, if there were no ideological differences, if there were no interethnic, inter-religious and social conflicts, what are the main reasons for all the troubles that shake the world, and there is no danger to us here, why then there is a need for reconciliation and who will reconcile with whom.

There is nothing else to reconcile but the obstruction of justice to save criminals from the top of the former government that has been robbing the country and its citizens for the past 11 years, which has destroyed the fragile transition democracy and all hopes for a faster Europeanization of the country. What is that big threat to the imposed need for suicidal reconciliation that can lead Macedonia to no return and to disappearing much faster and without a great deal of troubles and bloodshed. A country without an independent and professional judiciary system is a banana state that is not just far from being a part of Europe, but cannot even enter the Balkan geographic map. It is hard to believe in the more frequent underground news that it is a matter of pressure on political leaders from the government and from the outside to forgive all crimes without a legal and righteous judicial resolution. On the contrary, the official, clearly expressed preconditions from Brussels are the rule of law by directly pointing out specific judicial decisions to unjustifiably lengthy processes. That was and remains the essential condition for starting negotiations with the EU and speeding up the procedure for NATO membership. The obstruction of justice was the main activity of the bearers of the overthrown regime of Nikola Gruevski, and in his absence led by his deputy leader Hristijan Mickoski and the party-instructed President Gjorge Ivanov.

Civil reconciliation, or, to put it more precisely, the removal of misconceptions among a part of citizens for the innocence and honesty of the bearers of Nikola Gruevski’s regime, is possible only if the obstruction of justice ceases. The independent and uninterrupted work of the Public Prosecutor’s offices, both Special and Regular, is the best reconciliation and calming of Macedonia against the imposed political tensions since the first day of the fall of the regime. Public Prosecutor’s offices are not courts. They are not holding trials, the court is. If both the government and the opposition really want to introduce the rule of law, then let them leave the entire work to the justice system, which must be cleaned up beforehand by all who have contributed to the trial of orders and to the degradation of the complete judiciary, starting with those for misdemeanors, then the Supreme, Administrative and Constitutional Court. The proposal of all relevant parliamentary political parties for the smooth operation of the Special Public Prosecutor’s Office with an even greater increase in its powers to prosecute the crimes in the top ranks of the current government and for the completion of all started cases and new investigations of the previous government’s misdeeds with a proposal of a new a law with rigorous penalties for any obstruction of justice would be the greatest civil reconciliation and making peace in the long run. That would mean opening the EU’s doors for negotiations next month.

All who are acting smart and are endlessly debating on the topic of closing the Special Prosecutor’s Office, accusing announcing it as if they were legal authorities and fighters for the rule of law, while using an unprofessional and incomprehensible language, pointing to the deadlines for launching SPO investigations, the lack of evidence of overstepping the powers of the prosecutors, political compromise and persecution are all followers of the criminal structures of the authorities and centers of power, whether current or previous. That is why every comment on the word reconciliation at the expense of justice is the true legitimacy of who belongs where, and who and why they seek reconciliation.

Until the VMRO-DPMNE leadership did not apologize for its misdeeds and did not accept the smooth operation of the Special Prosecutor’s Office with the support of the independence of the judiciary, reconciliation would not be possible. And if other political parties and leaders accept such reconciliation, there will be no state. In fact, it has been conspired by counters of votes on ethnic grounds, scaring the people with division of the country, drawing the red and blue post-election map. They are silent that Macedonian votes are most numerous votes on both sides, who want them to be on only one side. This would be the beginning of the breakup of Macedonia, with the new fascism that Umberto Eco discovered 20 years ago.
