“Treasury” trial adjourned until March 29

Trial in the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) case dubbed “Treasury” has been adjourned until March 29.

The trial judge said on Monday the reason for the postponement is the pending outcome of the appeals procedure before the Supreme Court of Greece regarding the extradition of former Administration for Security and Counterintelligence (UBK) section head Goran Grujevski.

Former UBK director Saso Mijalkov, his office chief Toni Jakimovski, former UBK section head Goran Grujevski and former assistant minister of interior Nebojsa Stajkovic are indicted in the case.

“Treasury” refers to abuse of budget funds regarding the procurement of electronic-communications equipment for the UBK and training over its use carried out by a UK company.
