Three years from the armed incident in Kumanovo

Macedonia commemorates today the third anniversary of the armed incident taken place in Kumanovo, where 8 police officers and 14 members of an armed group, consisting of former guerrillas of the National Liberation Army, which was dissolved after the 2001 conflict, remained killed.

The Ministry of Interior declared today that institutions will deliver justice and that the responsible people will be reprehended. “On this day, we mark a tragic event. We cannot allow such act to be repeated again”, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, 34 people have been handed sentences by the court relating this case and the majority of them were given life sentences. But, PM Zoran Zaev has also announced that there will be an international investigation on the violent events that were produced on 9 May 2015 in Kumanovo. /ibna/
