The waste from Struga to end up in Skopje

The companies that have to solve the problem with the illegal landfill in Struga, which has posed a threat to the life of the citizens of Struga for a long time, have been selected. The waste from the Struga Landfill will be transported to Drisla in Skopje in about 40 days. This announcement was condemned by the opposition VMRO-DPMNE that came out with the claim that waste has already been transported from Tetovo to the Drisla landfill in Skopje.

According to VMRO-DPMNE, Drisla cannot and should not be a landfill where waste from the whole country will be transferred, considering that it is an additional waste that is decaying and extremely harmful to the environment, and to the health of the citizens.

“Is there any business interest behind this? Given that the waste will be gathered only from the municipalities that are under the control of DUI at this moment, is this subject to a coalition agreement between SDSM-DUI?” said the party’s announcement. Earlier, the Skopje Mayor Petre Silegov said that the landfill Drisla will no longer pollute because it has a filter.
