The SEC: 666,743 voted, 91.46% For, 5.65% Against

The State Election Commission (SEC) has released the preliminary results from 100 percent of polling stations, showing that 666,743 people voted at yesterday’s referendum, i.e. 36.91 percent of registered voters.

Of them, 91.46 percent or 609,813 people voted ‘Yes’, 5.66 percent or 37,700 voted ‘No’, while 2.89 percent or 19,221 ballots were invalid.

SEC president Oliver Derkovski said that the referendum decision has not been adopted because more than half of registered voters have not exercised their right.

The SEC report will be published in the Official Gazette within 15 days, also forwarded to the Parliament and released at the SEC website.
