The Montenegrin opposition introduced its presidential candidate


Montenegrin opposition parties nominated economist and MP Mladen Bojanic as their candidate in the upcoming presidential election scheduled for April 15, Tanjug reported.

Bojanic was nominated by the Democratic Party and the civil movement URA, and additionally received support from Andrija Mandic’s Democratic Front and Nebojsa Medojevic. The remaining large opposition party, the Socialist People’s Party, should additionally decide whether to support his candidacy. Thus, the opposition united against the ruling Democratic Party of Socialists will run with its own candidate.

DPS has not yet announced its candidate. It is expected to be the party leader, former President and six-time prime minister of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic, but mayor of Defense Minister Milica Pejanovic Djurisic is also likely to run in the upcoming election.
