The last concern is the biggest

Erol Rizaov

Always the last, the latest concern is the biggest one. Macedonian nationalism, Albanian stubbornness, anemic authorities and the indecisive prime minister can dismantle the government on the poker table due to a law on languages. And, by doing so, they will bury all hopes for freedom, democracy and a better life, for Europeanization and rescue from corrupt politicians and criminals, and finally – from the decay of Macedonia.
Compromises in Macedonia do not survive. Definitely. An old truth in a new packaging. Greek Minister Kotzias can now calmly postpone the visit to Skopje in the next few months and to write the proposal for the country’s name erga omnes with new claims. Just by this, one can see that nothing will happen. We now have a new concern and a severe headache: how to release criminals from trials in order for them to come back to power. In such a short time, we forgot the whip and 12 years of fighting for freedom and all the sacrifice. This can end the naive bargaining with the opposition to return to parliament. As if solution is only to pass the law on the languages that both VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM accepted when they competed for forming of the new government.
Albanian political leaders have their mouths full of compromises and tolerance for everything, except what they think is of their interest. There, not even a comma can be changed. The law on languages is considered a sacred script, although it would not be any problem if it went through a bit of better scientific and legal processing for provisions in the law that are practically inapplicable.
Their fanatical views, inherent in primitive alienation and stubbornness, do not differ in any way from the chauvinist trumpets that the Macedonian language is concerned when other languages gain greater use, or when they express hypocritical concerns about the endangering of the languages of other ethnic communities, which is true, but never so big interpreters of democracy did raise that issue.
However, due to SDSM’s flirting with populism and nationalism, Macedonia is entering into a new crisis amid negotiations with Greece, which makes it further weakened. Unfortunately, a big deal again, this is due to unclean domestic affairs that show the instability of a country that is increasingly taking over the old role of an apple in the strife in the Balkans. From day to day, we enter phases that Macedonia makes from a factor of stability in the cause of crises and tensions in the region. It is not without reason the fears that the idea of dividing the country can become more appealing not only to the Balkan nationalists, but also to the world and European pragmatists and powerful people. This was the case with the breakup of Yugoslavia. First, everyone called that for the stability of the region, Yugoslavia should be preserved, then everyone was calling for the peaceful and civilized way to unite the republics of the spent historical model that does not accept compromise solutions and, finally, the work ended in bloodshed. Agony and poverty still persists, not only among those who are fighting, but among everyone.

In Macedonia, the division will make things easier. There is no one here to get killed. With a hundred deaths in 2001, we were drowned in tears. In this case, the disintegration with two three thousand dead and burned and ruined cities would provoke a refugee wave smaller than that of Syria because there is no one to flee, except those who have failed to escape in the past years in the era of greatest successes and achievements in history of Macedonia, when most young people left because of too many great things. So, while Kotzias unpacks his diplomatic bag with great relief, the government and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev can start packing their suitcases. The tragedy will not be in their leaving, but rather that those who should go to prison will come in their place. It would be the biggest scam of the majority of citizens who voted for change, freedom, democracy, rule of law, against injustice, against robbers and criminals, against poverty and misery, for a better life and for Euro-Atlantic integration, for European Macedonia. It is not a matter of the law on languages, which is also experienced among learned people as the rooting of their language, which we have not yet learned as it should, but it is again about the Balkan primitivism, provincialism, nationalism and chauvinism, vain hot heads cluttered, who knowingly, as useful fools, rescue criminals and those who brought us to this level.
Just listen to that cowboy call from Zijadin Sela to Ali Ahmeti. Get out if you’re a man. Leave the government. Typically Balkan, or should I say Albanian, but someone might be offended. Is there really a man or woman in his vicinity to ask this man, for whom we were all worried and sympathetic to what happened to him in parliament on April 27 – For God’s sake Sela, do you want those who beat you to death to come back to power? Or you just bluff with five “boards” in your hands, like poker that plays the last division. The majority of citizens of Macedonia from all nations and religions did not choose you because of the law on languages, but to put an end to torture, crime, and for a better European future. If you set off on the road to Europe, many other things will come in the interest of all citizens. Forget those duels for now, because for one kilogram of meat you will ruin the country. Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, the ministers, should be removed from the lane that routinely runs the entire government in a circle and to stop constantly trying to justify something, to fulfill wishes and orders to be lenient. They publicly show that they lose self-esteem with the sensitivity of criticism and praise. This makes the government a prayer home for nuns. Respect for the laws, the rule of law, parliamentary democracy, moral norms and strict adherence to historical important strategic priority goals for the future of Macedonia contained in the election promises is the exit from the latest internal, only our authentic domestic crisis. The skill and wisdom to run a coalition government with a thin majority is the greatest achievement in politics. In the Balkans, it is equal to a miracle, which is not possible without compromises. Peoples who have been taught and educated for centuries in the spirit of compromise, being betrayed, supported and incited by politicians populists and public figures, from the intelligence of a nation that rides and lives well on that wave, is the greatest misfortune that is happening in the Macedonian people and does not let it move forward.
These are difficult situations when you really need to cut, not with a knife, but with your mind. The scales are still in the hands of the majority in the parliament, the government and the prime minister, Zoran Zaev, the most responsible person for the overall situation in the country. They will either go forward bravely, respecting the determination of the citizens, and the legal powers they have in the mechanisms of power-sharing, or will be the biggest losers ever. Even worse than that, they will be the biggest culprits for all the misfortune that will happen after Gruevski and his family return, or their closest heirs, return to power. Whatever.
