The Assembly will return the unused campaign money


The Government has transferred 80 million denars to the Parliament for the campaign for the referendum, but the funds allocated for 41% of the deputies will be unused and cannot be re-allocated, informs the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia.

The announcement states that upon the request of the Parliament for approval of the funds for the campaign for the referendum that will be implemented by the authorized proposer of the Decision on referendum, the Government allocated funds in the amount of MKD 80 million, transferred to the special purpose account of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia , which will be used exclusively for the conduct of the referendum campaign.

– The allocated funds will be exclusively used only for the purpose for which the funds are allocated, that is, for the campaign that will be conducted by 71 MPs who stated that they are in the coalition for the referendum, which is 59 percent of the time for preferential paid advertising in the media, the statement said.

The Cabinet of the President of the Parliament informs that the rest of the allocated funds for a referendum campaign, that is, the funds allocated for 41% of the MPs who declared in the letter to the President of the Parliament that they require the funds for the campaign to be re-allocated for other purposes, can not are re-allocated for other purposes, ie they will remain unused.

– The Assembly, as a beneficiary of the funds, is obliged, after the end of the campaign, to prepare a report on the spent funds and unused funds will be immediately returned to the Budget of the Republic of Macedonia, reads the press release from the Cabinet of the President of the Assembly.
