Stoltenberg and North Atlantic Council arrive in Skopje


NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and the North Atlantic Council are paying an official visit to North Macedonia.

Stoltenberg and the NATO ambassadors are expected to arrive at the Skopje International Airport later on Sunday, followed by a reception in the Parliament.

On Monday, the NATO officials will be welcomed with highest state and military honors at the Government building.

Secretary General Stoltenberg and the NATO ambassadors will meet North Macedonia’s top officials, discussing the process of the country’s Alliance accession and the the progress of reforms.

A meeting of the North Atlantic Council and the Committee for NATO Integration, chaired by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, will also take place.

This is Stoltenberg’s first visit to Skopje since the signing of the NATO Accession Protocol in February, which has already been ratified by 14 member states.
