Solution protecting dignity and identity of both sides, Zaev tells ANA-MPA

Building mutual trust and a guarantee that the solution is final and protects the dignity and identity of both sides are the most important parts of the negotiating process, says Prime Minister Zoran Zaev in a statement for Greek news agency ANA-MPA.

Zaev says Macedonia has no irredentist aspirations and added that Greek counterpart Tsipras is sincere and believes the name solution will be good for his country.

“Building trust between the two sides and guarantees that the solution is final and one protecting the dignity and identity of both sides is the most important part of the process,” Zaev told ANA-MPA during his visit to Berlin.

Regarding the possibility of a solution by the NATO summit in July, PM Zaev says there are differences in the name issue, but also possibilities for a solution, including guarantees for the people, not only politicians.

“There is a possibility for a solution but only if we build trust and provide the necessary legal guarantees in the negotiating process on what would be acceptable for the people, not only for Zaev, Tsipras, Dimitrov or Kotzias,” says Zaev.
