Skopje waits his extradition; Gruevski roams freely in Budapest’s streets

Macedonia’s Justice Minister Renata Deskoska is expecting Hungary, an EU member country, to act according to European standards and conventions and extradite Nikola Gruevski.

She said that her country has the right to demand Gruevski’s extradition.

“It’s within the right of Hungarian authorities to take a decision on this, but I expect the government of this country, which is an EU member country, to act according to European standards and conventions, in particular according to the European Convention for Extradition which we have ratified and signed along with Hungary”, Justice Minister Deskoska said.

On November 13, Gruevski announced through his Facebook profile that he had applied for political asylum in Hungary. On November 20, he announced that his application was accepted by Hungarian authorities.
