Seven embassies under investigation for abuse with funds

Seven embassies of North Macedonia have been put under investigation. A probe launched by authorities in the country suggests that these embassies have not returned the funds that these embassies had not spent until the end of 2017. According to authorities, these diplomatic centers have acted in breach of the law on the budget, which states that unused funds must return to the state budget.

The embassies that are part of this investigation are the ones in Kiev, Pristina, Rome, Vatican, New York, Bern and Tokyo . The amount that should have been returned to the state budget is over 200 thousand euros.
