President Ivanov visits Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew


The President of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov met with the Archbishop of Constantinople and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The 50-minute meeting was held in a warm atmosphere, on Tuesday afternoon, in Istanbul, at the diocese of the Patriarchate and more specifically in the quarter of Fener. 
The Eucumenical Patriarch told President Ivanov that on Wednesday he is expecting the arrival of representatives from the church of Macedonia, with whom he will discuss church issues and the latest developments in matters of common interest.
Ivanon thanked the Ecumenical Patriarch for his warm welcome at the diocese and explained that he is in Istanbul for a conference. The two men agreed that people should be reigned by Christian love. The ongoing negotiations on the name issue between Athens and Skopje were not mentioned or talked about…. / IBNA
