President Ivanov refuses to sign yet another bill

North Macedonia’s President Gjorge Ivanov has not agreed to sign the bill against discrimination, which parliament adopted last week. The bill has gone back to parliament again, while Ivanov argues that his decision is based on the Constitution.

“Under article 75 of the Constitution, I have decided not to sign the bill for the prevention and protection against discrimination that the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia has sent me on 11 March of this year”, Ivanov argues.

Meanwhile, the president of North Macedonia has also refused to sign a number of other bills which relate to the reforms demanded by the European Union.
