President Gjorge Ivanov organized Thursday a traditional working lunch for the Visegrad Group (V4) Ambassadors to Macedonia.

Ivanov and Ambassadors Lazslo Istvan Dux (Hungary), Henrik Markus (Slovakia), Jacek Multanowski (Poland), Miroslav Toman (the Czech Republic) discussed on possibilities for advancing the bilateral relations and cooperation, political developments in Macedonia, its activities on the road to the EU, NATO membership, as well as the EU’s current challenges, the President’s Office said in a press release.

The President highlighted the significance of the V4 support of Macedonia’s Euro-Atlantic integration processes for the realization of the country’s strategic goals.

‘The Republic of Macedonia remains committed to the road towards full integration with the EU and NATO and to that effect we expect your open-door policy to assist in appropriate evaluation of our progress,’ Ivanov told the Ambassadors.

He notified the Macedonia-V4 response to challenges of the migrant crisis as a solid example of cooperation between an EU candidate and member countries, and thanked the Visegrad Group countries for their assistance in equipment and police forces.

The Ambassadors commended Macedonia’s efforts to speed up its accession to the EU and NATO, saying that the V4 would keep supporting the country’s European, Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
