Political forces in Macedonia clash over the developments in 2018

Political parties in Macedonia have started to engage in strong debates concerning the developments taken place in the country during 2018.

The leader of the biggest opposition party, VMRO-DPMNE, Hristijan Mickoski declared that this year has been the worst ever for the country.

“Progress has not been made and Macedonia can be compared to countries such as Tanzania and Ethiopia as far as corruption is concerned. However, there’s still light at the end of the tunnel for the country”, Mickoski said.

Ruling party SDSM said that the bad things that the country saw during VMRO-DPMNE’s time are long gone now.

“Mickoski continues to spread negativity, but he’s Gruevski’s tool. Every time he speaks, he shows that he has no plan for Macedonia and no vision”, SDSM said.

These accusations come at a time when the country is discussing the finalization of the package for the Prespa agreement which concerns the issue of the country’s name.
