PMs Zaev and Tsipras hold tête-a-tête meeting


North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and visiting Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras hold Tuesday tête-a-tête meeting in the Government.

PM Tsipras has arrived early Tuesday in the Republic of North Macedonia for a first-ever visit to the country.

The Greek delegation led by Tsipras has been welcomed by Deputy PM and Defense Minister Radmila Shekerinska at the Skopje International Airport.

Tsipras has been welcomed with a formal reception ceremony outside government’s building.

Zaev and Tsipras greeted the journalists and took a selfie, after which they headed to government building.

100 accredited journalists of whom 40 from Greece cover the Tsipras’s visit to North Macedonia.

Tsipras’s visit, which is assessed as historical by the media and analysts, will be broadcast live from the national televisions of Greece and North Macedonia, including the arrival at the airport, the formal reception outside the government’s building, the intergovernmental session, the joint press conference of the prime ministers and a business forum.

After bilateral and intergovernmental meeting, Zaev and Tsipras will hold a joint press conference.

Tsipras is also scheduled to meet with Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi.

In the afternoon, Zaev and Tsipras are to attend and address a business forum.

Tsipras is accompanied in Skopje by a delegation comprised of representatives of over 100 small and medium-sized enterprises, interested to invest in North Macedonia.
