PM Zaev says all controversial court cases will be clarified

Macedonia cannot be a normal state and keep existing in mystery until the cases, such as ‘Sopot’, ‘Smilkovo Lake’, ‘Diva Naselba’, Nikola Mladenov’, are not fully clarified Prime Minister Zoran Zaev told a parliament Q&A session on Friday.

Citizens demand from government to offer answer to all issues, Zaev said, pointing out that the request for an international investigation is a result of the politicized society.

‘The citizens are entitled to know the truth. Until restoring of the citizens’ trust in state institutions, especially in the judiciary, the government will ask for an international investigation. Citizens wish to know what and why something happened. I believe Macedonia is heading to a period when citizens will get answers to all questions. I am talking about all citizens – Macedonians, Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Bosniaks, Roma…’ the PM said.

Citizens, he said, seek answers whether Mladenov was killed, why and how an armed group entered in Kumanovo (Diva Naselba) case, whether someone manipulated it to act in a rather sensitive period, etc.
