NATO will use ‘Macedonian language’ once the Prespa process is over

The Alliance failed to use the term at its website after Wednesday’s signing of the NATO Accession Protocol, despite regularly using it before.

A NATO source told MIA that term ‘Macedonian language’ will be used once the Prespa Agreement is fully implemented.

According to unofficial information, the Greeks urged for the term’s absence on this occasion only, due to the sensitivity of NATO Accession Protocol ratification process in the country’s parliament, which is set to be completed on Friday.

“NATO is doing everything to prevent intense reactions from any side, not putting Macedonia’s accession process into jeopardy,” says the source.

It adds that NATO will go back to the regular use of term ‘Macedonian language’ once the process is completed, in compliance with the Prespa Agreement.
