NATO chief visits Skopje


NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is to pay a visit to Macedonia on Jan. 17-18.

Stoltenberg is scheduled to address MPs in the Macedonian Parliament on Jan. 18 (Thursday) at a plenary session.

He is expected to meet with President Gjorge Ivanov, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov, Defence Minister Radmila Sekerinska, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickovski and other leaders of political parties.

Government informs that Stoltenberg and Zaev are set to hold a joint press conference on Jan. 18 (Thursday) at 4:00 pm in Government’s Press Centre.

Stoltenberg’s visit comes during a period of intensified activities and communication between the authorities in Skopje and Athens over the resolution of the decades-long name dispute and Macedonia’s expectations for progress in the Euro-Atlantic integration.
