Muharrem Ince ordered journalists from the state-controlled TRT to leave press conference

Turkey’s opposition leader warned that the nation is heading towards “one man rule” as Muharrem Ince conceded electoral defeat to President Erdogan.

Appearing this lunchtime at the headquarters of his party, the CHP, after hours of speculation over his whereabouts, Mr Ince first ordered journalists from the state-controlled TRT to leave the meeting.

He was given only 15 hours of television coverage by the channel in the campaigning period, compared to Erdogan’s 181 hours. TRT also ignored his huge rallies in the lead up to polling day, while giving rolling coverage to Erdogan’s campaign.
