Montenegro will ratify NATO Accession Protocol by emergency procedure

The Government of Montenegro passed the Proposal of the Law on the ratification of North Macedonia’s NATO Accession Protocol,  to be sent to the Parliament for adoption by emergency procedure.

“At its first session after the entry into force of the Prespa Agreement, the Government of Montenegro passed the Proposal of the Law on the ratification of the Accession Protocol of the Republic of North Macedonia to NATO,” the Government of Montenegro tweeted.

This confirms Montenegro’s strong support for North Macedonia, which will contribute to the stability of the region and its Euro-Atlantic perspective, Prime Minister Dusko Markovic said.

“This is an important moment,” Markovic tweeted, wishing for North Macedonia to wrap up the accession process as soon as possible and become the 30th NATO member.
