The governments of the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania will hold first ever joint session in the Albanian town of Pogradec on Friday.
The session is expected to address issues related to infrastructure connectivity, the construction of Corridor 8, facilitation and intensification of exchange of goods and services and enhancement of the cooperation in the field of security.
Several cooperation documents including a consultation plan between the ministries of foreign affairs, memorandum between the ministries of interior for cooperation in the field of internal control, and the establishment of a joint committee for economic cooperation are planned to be signed. In the area of education and science, a memorandum for bilateral cooperation through the Institute for Cultural and Spiritual Heritage of the Albanians from the Republic of Macedonia will be signed. Additionally, a memorandum of cooperation in the fight against violent extremism and radicalism and a cooperation agreement in crisis prevention will also be signed.
After the session, Macedonian and Albanian Prime Ministers Zoran Zaev and Edi Rama are to hold joint press conference.
On Saturday, Zaev and Rama are to leave for Pustec to meet local self-government official and to visit the school where they will donate equipment for the students.
