Macedonia Parliament to host Rose-Roth Seminar of NATO PA in June

The Parliament of Macedonia in June for the seventh time will host the Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly (PA). To that end, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi on Tuesday met with Henrik Bliddal, political director in charge of Rose-Roth Seminars, who is visiting Macedonia as preparations for the seminar are under way.

Speaker Xhaferi expressed satisfaction with the fact that Macedonia’s Parliament would once again host the Rose-Roth Seminar of the NATO PA, especially taking into consideration the fact that the event would take place in the midst of Macedonia’s enhanced efforts made to integrate into Euro-Atlantic structures and shortly before the Brussels NATO Summit in July, the Parliament said in a press release.

As regards the organizational segment of the seminar, Xhaferi said that the Parliament’s service would provide full expert and operational support and alongside the NATO PA service to undertake all necessary preparations in organizing the high-level international event.

Thanking the Parliament for accepting to host the seminar, Bliddal said the building of the legislative body met all the standards for organizing it.

The NATO PA holds two to three Rose-Roth Seminars per year. For two to three days, members of parliaments from NATO member and partner countries meet with government officials, representatives from NATO and other international organisations, as well as experts from universities, think tanks and NGOs, to discuss one specific security issue of common interest.
