Koumoutsakos: Kotzias accepts alleged Greek irredentist aspirations toward Northern neighbor

It seems that Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, although indirectly, accepts Skopje claims about alleged Greece’s irredentist aspirations towards the neighboring country, opposition New Democracy shadow foreign minister Giorgos Koumoutsakos said.

Koumoutsakos criticizes the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the statement of Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov at yesterday’s joint press conference with Kotzias, who said that the working groups of the two countries ‘have actually aligned a text on a future cooperation in various areas and also worked on drafting a document on preventing irredentism by the two parties.,’ MIA reports from Athens.

The logic of bringing Athens and Skopje together in regard to the irredentism issue undermines Greece’s national stances is unacceptable, Koumoutsakos said in a press release.
