Kocijancic: EU supports and follows national procedures for Prespa Deal implementation

The EU supports the Prespa Agreement and it follows the national procedures that still need to be done to implement the agreement, said European Commission spokesperson Maja Kocijancic.

EU spokesperson Kocijancic reiterated that the EU ‘supports the historic agreement and the political courage and leadership in resolving one of the region’s oldest conflicts.’

“It is a unique opportunity to overcome the difficulties of the past and strengthen reconciliation in the region and in Europe as a whole. We are now following national procedures that still need to be done to implement the agreement,” Kocijancic said when asked to comment on the ratification of the name deal in Greece after Macedonian MPs adopted the constitutional changes.
