Katrougalos: There is progress in name talks, ball in other side’s court

– Greek Alternate Minister for Foreign Affairs Georgios Katrougalos is a moderate optimist regarding the name issue settlement, saying the ball is in the other side’s court.

“With regards to a solution, I am still a moderate optimist there is a window of opportunity and certain progress has been made on many issues. The ball is in the court of the other side. We have a national interest to solve the issue, but no major pressure. We are not impatient for a solution,” Katrougalos told TV station Skai.

The Alternate FM says a constitutional revision is part of the solution and “the other side has a different position on this”.

“We want all issues to be regulated by an international agreement, this was our initial stance. The constitutional revision is also important because we want to eliminate all issues related to irredentism, so that we have a comprehensive, long-lasting solution for all uses,” explained Katrougalos.
