Ivanov, Xhaferi and Zaev extend Saturday Easter greetings

President Gjorge Ivanov, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev extended Saturday Easter greetings to the Orthodox faithful.

“The day of Christ’s Resurrection-Easter is the biggest Christian holiday. This day is the foundation of our faith. God’s sacrifice to the cross resulted in the victory of God’s love to humanity over the God’s wrath,” says President Ivanov in the message.

He adds that as life conquered death through the reconciliation between God and humanity, reconciliation in the Macedonian society should renew the commitment to a common future.

Speaker Xhaferi wishes good health, well-being and spiritual peace, since Easter is a holiday for the family. He urges for understanding and respect among all people living in Macedonia, regardless of their religious or ethnic background.

“Coexistence and respect for religions are the country’s traditional values, and it is our duty to maintain and enhance them. Happy Easter for years to come,” reads the note.

PM Zaev says the great holiday urges people to improve themselves as individuals, having in mind Christ’s feat.

“We have to keep our souls and bodies clean, because the biggest friends of faith and humankind are restraint and responsibility. These human values can liberate and strengthen the soul and the spirit,” reads the note.
