Ivanov to address citizens following his two-minute meeting with Zaev and Dimitrov

President Gjorge Ivanov will address citizens during the day following his two-minute meeting with PM Zoran Zaev and FM Nikola Dimitrov at which they briefed him about the deal reached on name issue, Ivanov’s Cabinet said in a press release.

The Republic of North Macedonia, erga omnes, change of the Constitution and gradual introduction of new name in the country, preservation of the Macedonian identity and the Macedonian language is contained in the agreement, which was confirmed Tuesday by Prime Ministers of Macedonia and Greece Zoran Zaev and Alexis Tspiras at their phone call and afterwards they informed the public in their countries of what they achieved in trying to put an end to 25-year-long name dispute.

Zaev said that the Government will review the agreement at a session on Thursday and will be presented before all relevant stakeholders in the country.

After the signing of the agreement by the two prime ministers, it should be ratified in the parliaments of both countries.
