Government declares non-working day in Skopje due to Pope Francis’ visit


The Government has declared May 7 a non-working day for public and state administration employees at the territory of the City of Skopje due to the visit of Pope Francis.

“Considering the latest organizational assessments related to the protocol for the visit of His Holiness Pope Francis, and in accordance with the needs and requirements of institutions and citizens, the Government had decided to make May 7 (Tuesday) a non-working day for all public and state administration employees at the territory of the City of Skopje,” reads the press release.

The decision also encompasses primary and secondary schools, while kindergartens will remain open.

“The Government recommends private companies, especially those in downtown Skopje, to also consider this decision,” adds the press release.
