Fiti: The name should not affect the Macedonian language

The head of the Macedonian Academy of Science and Art, Taki Fiti says that despite the negotiations taking place about the issue of the name, the Macedonian language should remain as it has been recognized by the UN, “Macedonian language”.

“We cannot accept the term ‘makedonski’ in Latin when our language is mentioned. We ask for the UN formula which recognizes it as ‘Macedonian language’ to be respected. This is strictly a matter of identity”, academic Fiti said.
