Zaev does not offer amnesty, yet national reconciliation


Prime Minister Zoran Zaev does not offer amnesty for the events on April 27, but calls for national reconciliation among MPs in order to achieve the strategic interests of the state, claims a senior government official for Nezavisen Vesnik.

The Prime Minister, in his address to parliament, called for national reconciliation among MPs in order to protect the country’s interests and to enable the realization of the country’s strategic priorities, such as NATO and EU membership.

Zaev addressed at the parliamentary session on constitution revision, where he said he was sending a message of reconciliation and forgiveness for April 27, 2017. He said he was ready to pay a political price for this, which was interpreted as an amnesty offer.
