EU Commissioner Hahn calls on voters to participate in the referendum
EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn has hailed the decision taken by parliament in Macedonia for the holding of the name referendum on 30th of September.
“The EU hails this agreement and its implementation as symbol of reconciliation and good neighbouring relations in the region. I call on the citizens of Macedonia to use their democratic right of vote, because this is a decision for their future”, Hahn wrote on Twitter.
The European Commission has issued several messages underlining that the referendum will be key to the future of the country and that it gives way to NATO and EU accession. /ibna/
