This was stressed by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev at the meeting with the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China, Li Keqiang, on the sidelines of the 7th Summit of Heads of Government of the People's Republic of China Cooperation Process with Central and Eastern European Countries (16 + 1) which was held yesterday in Sofia. Delegations of the governments of both countries also attended the meeting.
The head of the Macedonian government stressed the significant support that the Chinese government gives in the efforts to accelerate the construction of the two Kicevo-Ohrid and Miladinovci-Stip highway.
As the government's press service announced, Zaev stressed the importance of the support that the PRC continues to give to the Republic of Macedonia from the independence to date, adding that our country continues to support the policy of one China.
At the meeting, the Macedonian Prime Minister informed that the process for establishing a visa-free regime between the two countries is in the final stage and pointed out that he expects to increase the movement and communication between the citizens of both countries, resulting in tourism development, greater cultural cooperation, relations.
Chinese Prime Minister Keqiang expressed strong support for the steps the Macedonian government is making to improve the living standards of citizens and policies to accelerate economic growth.
Prime Minister Keqiang emphasized that the PRC will continue to support the Republic of Macedonia and stressed that the increase of cooperation is very important, as the two countries are focused on economic development, which should contribute to improving the living standard of the citizens.
At the end of the meeting, Prime Minister Zaev said that the Republic of Macedonia remains a great friend of the People's Republic of China and expressed strong assurance that the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries will be promoted and developed in a positive direction.
