Prime Minister Zoran Zaev met Thursday with Srini Gopalan, Deutsche Telekom Board Member for Europe, and Makedonski Telekom CEO Andreas Elsner, saying the government is investing intensive efforts into a stable business and investment environment that would guarantee the security and stability of foreign investments.
"The country needs an annual GDP growth exceeding five percent and this can be achieved only by encouraging companies to invest and open new jobs, towards improving the citizens' lives in all walks of life", said PM Zaev.
He added that Deutsche Telekom is an important investor in Macedonia, a company deserving of sincere cooperation and professional relationship, the Government said in a press release.
Interlocutors agreed that cooperation in the telecommunications field would intensify in the future, whereas the improving business environment is an important prerequisite for such cooperation.
The future digitization perspectives were also tackled at the meeting, including e-government, e-health, e-administration, as well as projects dubbed "smart cities" and "smart lighting" etc.
